Kolkata, December 24: Facing flak from the all fronts for enacting the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act, voices are rising from inside the Bharatiya Janata Party who are raising questions on the transparency of the act. Among several leaders, BJP leader from West Bengal and relative of Subhash Chandra Bose -- Chandra Kumar Bose -- has raised an alarm and asked his own party to be 'open to all religions and communities'.
Expressing his views on the CAA, Bose took to Twitter and wrote, "If #CAA2019 is not related to any religion why are we stating - Hindu, Sikh, Boudha, Christians, Parsis & Jains only! Why not include #Muslims as well? Let''s be transparent." Adding more, he suggested not to equate India with other countries. Bose wrote, "Don''t equate India or compare it with any other nation - as it''s a nation Open to all religions and communities." Apart from this, Chandra Bose was also of the opinion that there is no harm in including Muslims in the CAA. He wrote, "If Muslims are not being persecuted in their home country they would not come,so there's no harm in including them. However, this is not entirely true- what about Baluch who live in Pakistan & Afghanistan? What about Ahwadiyya in Pakistan?"

Earlier on December 11, the Union government managed to pass the CAB in Upper House amid massive uproar and on Thursday President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to the CAA -- making it an act. Following this, nationwide protests against the CAA and NRC began, and over 15 people have lost their lives. To curb the protests and maintain law and order, the state governments had scrapped internet and imposed Section 144. However, protests against CAA is still continuing, with people demanding a roll back of the act.
