The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won Assam's Ratabari Assembly seat by defeating the Indian National Congress by over 24,000 votes. Saffron party's Bijoy Malakar defeated grand old party's nominee Keshab Prasad Rajak.
In Uttar Pradesh by-polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Surendra Maithani defeated Congress' Karishma Thakur by a margin of 21,224 votes.
The result has been declared to by-polls in Samastipur Lok Sabha seat. Ram Vilas Paswan's nephew and Lok Shakti Party (LSP) candidate Prince Raj defeated Congress' Ashok Kumar by a margin of 1,02,090 votes.
The Indian National Congress (INC) on Thursday, October 24, registered a victory in two Gujarat Assembly seats. The grand old party candidate Jashubhai Patel defeated BJP's Dhavalsinh Zala in Bayad seat. In Tharad seat, Congress candidate Gulabsinh Rajput triumphed over saffron party's Jivraj Patel.
The ruling Congress emerged victorious in bypolls to Phagwara, Mukerian, and Jalalabad assembly constituencies. The grand old party candidate Raminder Singh Awla defeated Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) nominee Raj Singh Dibipura by over 16,000 votes from Jalalabad, considered an Akali bastion.
Gaurav Kumar of Samajwadi Party won the by-polls from Uttar Pradesh's Zaidpur constituency with a margin of 4165 votes. The nearest candidate was Bharatiya Janata Party's Ambrish.
The result has been declared for the by-election to Mandawa seat of Rajasthan. Congress candidate Rita Choudhary defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Sushila Sigra.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Reena Kashyap wins from Himachal Pradesh's Pachhad seat. Kashyap defeated former minister and Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Gangu Ram Musafir by a margin of over 2,500 votes.
The result has been declared for by-election to Chitrakote seat of Chhattisgarh. Congress candidate Rajman Venjam wins the lone seat for which by-polls were held in the state.
In Odisha, Biju Janata Dal's Rita Sahu won Bijepur by-election with a margin of over 97,000 votes. According to the Election Commission, the nearest candidate is Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanat Kumar Gartia.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ahead in five seats in Uttar Pradesh, while its alliance Apana Dal (Sonelal) in ahead in Pratapgarh. The Samajwadi Party is maintaining the lead in two seats- Rampur and Ziadpur.
Independent candidate Chakat Aboh won Khonsa (West) Assembly seat by a margin of 1887 votes. She was followed by another independent candidate Azet Homtok.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate and Sharad Pawar loyalist Shriniwas Patil is leading from Satara Lok Sabha constituency. Udayanraje Bhosale, who defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party, is trailing by a margin of 34,864.
In Rajasthan By-Elections, Indian National Congress (INC) leading from Mandawa. Bharatiya Janata Party's ally Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) ahead in Khinwar.
The Indian National Congress is leading on three seats (Phagwara, Mukerian, and Jalalabad) of Punjab where a by-election was held, a state election official said. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leads in Dakha.

Currently, thirty of these seats are held by the saffron party, 12 by Congress and rest by other parties. Uttar Pradesh is witnessing bypolls in 11 assembly seats, Gujarat in six, Bihar five, Kerala five, four each Punjab and Assam, three Sikkim; two each in Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan; and one each in Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal, Odisha, Puducherry, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Meghalaya.
Apart from this, results for Satara and Samastipur Lok Sabha seats will be declared. The assembly bypolls 2019 was required after some MLAs won the Lok Sabha elections and abandoned from the state assembly. The Ghosi seat fell vacated following the resignation of BJP leader Phagu Chauhan after he was appointed the Governor of Bihar.
