Lucknow, December 4: Bhola Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Bulandshahr, where a mob violence on Monday killed a police inspector and a 18-year-old youth, blamed the Ijtema (Islamic congregation) which ended on Sunday for the violence. However, ADG law & order Anand Kumar, talking to the press earlier in the day said that it cannot be confirmed if the gathering had any role to play or incited the violence. On Monday, inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was shot dead by the mob that was protesting against alleged cow slaughter in the district. The mob even attacked the police station and the vehicle that the inspector was in was found severely damaged. A 19-year-old youth named Sumit was also killed and his post-mortem report has made it clear that he died of a gun wound. Investigation is on to ascertain who fired at the youth, said police. ADG (Law and Order) Anand Kumar was quoted as saying by news agency ANI that "four people have been arrested." When asked about the alleged association of the accused to certain groups, the ADG said that "I don’t know about the organizations yet, but the main accused in the violence is Yogesh Raj who has not been arrested till now,” .
