New Delhi, January 31: Budget Session 2019, the last one before the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, is set to begin today. Ahead of the session on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the media outside Parliament, said that he hopes that both Houses function normally during this session. Modi said that the people of the country had high hopes from Parliamentarians and, hence, were disappointed whenever MPs would not show interest in debates and discussions. "Today, the country is observing the proceedings of Parliament. The MPs should hold a meaningful debate in this session of Parliament. We are eager to hold a debate on all important issues," PM Modi said.
The Budget Session is being watched closely as the Modi government will present the Interim Budget 2019-2020 on February 1. This Budget would be a big test for the Modi government since it is the last one before the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, scheduled to take place in April this year.
