BJP's Jadavpur Candidate Attacked Amid Poll Rigging Allegations in West Bengal Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Other Incidences of Violence Reported Too

BJP candidate from Jadavpur Anupam Hazra was attacked on Sunday, allegedly by TMC miscreants during West Bengal Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Even, Diamond Harbour BJP candidate Nilanjan Roy's car was vandalised in the Dongaria area of the constituency.

Kolkata, May 19: As expected, the polling for Phase 7 of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in West Bengal amid the shadow of violence. In the latest, BJP candidate from Jadavpur Anupam Hazra was attacked on Sunday, allegedly by TMC miscreants. Along with this, Diamond Harbour BJP candidate Nilanjan Roy's car vandalised in Dongaria area of the constituency.

According to the reports, BJP's candidate Anupam Hazra alleged that his car was vandalised by TMC goons, who were trying to rig teh polls at polling booth number 109 in Jadavpur. Speaking to the reporters, Hazra stated that soon after he heard the reports, he went to the polling booth, where his car was attacked. Among other incidents, that took place earlier in the day include the attack on Nilanjan Roy's - BJP candidate for Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency - the car was vandalised in Dongaria area of the constituency. Also, TMC Kolkata South Candidate Mala Roy alleged that central forces prevented her from entering the polling booth.

Apart from all these incidents, earlier in the morning reports arrived that BJP camp office in Kadampukur area of Barasat constituency has been vandalised. The BJP had blamed Trinamool Congress for the attack, while no TMC has been denying it. In Sashan, TMC workers alleged that central forces were instructing voters to vote for BJP. Things went out of hand after forces opened lathi charge which badly injured a physically challenged person.
