BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj Booked For Violating Model Code Of Conduct Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2019

The sitting BJP MP from Unnao filed his nomination papers on Monday. Reports inform that more than 100 vehicles were present in his cavalcade when he went to file his nomination.

Lucknow, April 9: A non cognizable offence information report has been registered against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sakshi Maharaj for allegedly violating Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh. The sitting BJP MP from Unnao filed his nomination papers on Monday. Reports inform that more than 100 vehicles were present in his cavalcade when he went to file his nomination.

According to reports, the BJP MP when asked to show the pass of the vehicles present in his cavalcade, he was able to show the passes of only 13 vehicles. Moreover, he had no passes for the other vehicles, following which, a case was registered against him for allegedly violating the model code of conduct. UP Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Schedule: Constituency Wise Dates.

In another case of violation of model code of conduct, a show-cause notice was issued against Madhya Pradesh BJP Chief and Jabalpur candidate Rakesh Singh for taking more than five people to the returning officer`s room while filing nomination.

Polling in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19. The first phase polling will be held on 8 seats on 11 April, the second phase of UP for 8 seats will be held ob 18 April, third phase will be held for 10 seats on 23 April, phase 4 for 13 seats will be held on 29 April. the 5th phase will be held for 14 seats on 6 May, Phase 6 for 14 seats will be held on 12 May while the Phase 7 in the state for 13 seats will be held on 19 May. Counting will be held on May 23.
