Delhi, September 23: Ram Shankar Katheria, the Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and member of Lok Sabha, has created a storm in social media after his video went viral of cutting a cake that was a replica of the parliament of India. The Parliament-shaped cake also had a national flag on it but it was removed before cutting it.

This act was criticized by several political parties and they demanded that Katheria should resign for his unrespectful act.
Hindu outfits Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) while commenting on the issue said that BJP leaders should take note of Katheria's act and show him his place.
Samajwadi Party's Metropolitan Chairperson Wajid Nisar said that cutting the cake in the shape of Parliament is like messing with the dignity of democracy. SP strongly opposes this.
Congress city president Haji Jamaluddin said that BJP MP committed the murder of democracy by cutting Parliament shaped cake and he should not be allowed to enter the parliament.
Notably, Ram Shankar Katheria was celebrating his 54th birthday at his residence in Agra on Friday.
Previously the BJP MP has been in controversies for his remark on education, he said that “There will be saffronisation of education and the country” this remark provoked criticism on social media and people called it highly objectionable and anti-national.
