Lucknow, August 3: Despite the BJP expelling Unnao MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar after the accident of the Unnao rape survivor, a BJP MP has come out in support of the rape accused Sengar. Speaking at a Panchayat event near Unnao on Friday, the BJP MP allegedly said that Unnao rape case main accused Kuldeep Singh Sengar “will get through the bad times” and that he will soon be amongst us. The comment by BJP MP comes at a time when the party is trying to project that it is distancing itself from the rape accused MP.
Faced with public outrage, the BJP on Thursday expelled its jailed Uttar Pradesh lawmaker Kuldeep Sengar, accused of raping a minor girl from Unnao two years ago and killing two members of her family, from the party.
UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh said in Lucknow that the party’s central leadership has expelled him. His statement earlier in the day that Sengar was suspended and not sacked from the party had created confusion over the MLA’s fate. Sources said BJP working president J P Nadda called up Singh to inform him of the party’s decision and asked him to make an announcement.
