Rajasthan BJP MLA Kalyan Singh Chouhan Passes Away After Prolonged Illness

Chouhan was an MLA from Nathdwara constituency in the Rajsamand district and was going through treatment for cancer for past three years.

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kalyan Singh Chouhan passed away on Wednesday at the GBH American Hospital in Udaipur in the wee hours. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted in the hospital.

Chouhan was an MLA from Nathdwara constituency in the Rajsamand district and was going through treatment for cancer for past three years.

The BJP legislator had made news when he had defeated Congress stalwart CP Joshi by just one vote in the 2008 Assembly polls back in 2008.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and BJP state president Ashok Parnami expressed their condolence and said it was a great loss to the party and for the people of Nathdwara.

Earlier in the day, BJP also lost their Noorpur MLA Lokendra Singh from Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh in a road accident. The Prime Minister had expressed anguish over the accident and condoled the death.
