New Delhi, April 3: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may field AAP rebel leader Kumar Vishwas against Aam Aadmi Party's Atishi from East Delhi Lok Sabha seat in parliamentary elections. Speculations rife after Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari held a meeting with Kumar Vishwas Monday night. The meeting lasted for about an hour. Tiwari is reportedly trying to bring Vishwas into BJP as a member or at least to campaign for the Lok Sabha polls.

The Delhi unit of BJP will recommend Vishwas's name for the East Delhi Lok Sabha seat, however, the final call will be taken by the central leadership, The Indian Express report quoted sources. The East Delhi Lok Sabha seat is currently represented by BJP's Maheish Girri. The BJP hasn't announced its candidate for the seat. Sources also said the party may shift Girri to Junagadh in Gujarat, where he had earlier been the head of a peeth. Sapna Chaudhary, Kumar Vishwas May Campaign For BJP in Delhi.

According to other reports, Vishwas is keen to contest from Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat. Earlier sources said Vishwas, who is known for his oratory skills, may get "important posts and responsibilities in the future or from another state". AAP had removed Vishwas as the party in-charge of Rajasthan months before assembly polls in the state. Since then,  he has had a rocky relationship in recent times with the AAP leadership.

Vishwas has made several critical remarks against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. Lok Sabha elections in Delhi will be held in a single phase on May 12. The results will be declared on May 23.
