New Delhi, December 16: Hours after senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kailash Vijayvargiya made a controversial and derogatory remark by calling Congress president Rahul Gandhi a ‘son of a foreigner’ and can never be ‘patriotic’, party spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi reacted by stating that the BJP leader has lost mental balance after defeat in three states.

Vijayvargiya on Saturday took to Twitter and had written, “A child born from a foreign woman can never be patriotic, nor have national interests at heart.” He also used the hashtag #SaturdayMotivation, which referred to his intention of insulting the Congress chief. Kamal Nath to Take Oath as Madhya Pradesh CM on December 17, Grand Show of Strength Planned by Congress.

Commenting back on the tweet, Congress chief spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi was quick to pounce on Vijayvargiya's controversial tweet, and was of the opinion that the latter needs a mental check-up as he had lost it after defeat in the recently held polls in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

She wrote, “He (Vijayvargiya) needs a medical attention. The electoral loss in Madhya Pradesh is very heavy on them (BJP).” Adding more, she also commented on the corrupt mentality of the BJP’s Indore parliamentarian.

Though the tweet was deleted by the BJP leader after protest and online condemnation for his near-abusive remark, but the damage was already done. However, it is known that Vijayvargiya has not apologised for his remarks on Gandhi.

The BJP leader was responsible for handling party’s election campaign in a part of Madhya Pradesh, but lost to Congress by securing only 109 seats. Congress won 109 seats in the state under the leadership of Kamal Nath, who will be sworn as the Chief Minister on December 17.
