Thiruvananthapuram, March 28: Kerala president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and candidate of the party in Kozhikode parliamentary constituency – KP Prakash Babu – political ambitions for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 have become sceptical. On Thursday, a judicial magistrate court in Ranni remanded him to 14-days judicial custody in Sabarimala case violence, took place last year.

Listening to the case of bail by Babu, the judicial magistrate on Thursday rejected the appeal, who has been booked on an ‘attempt to murder charge’ by the state police against a woman devotee who had come to offer prayers at the temple during the ‘Chithira Atta vishesham’ festivities. Kerala Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Dates: Constituency Wise Dates Of Voting And Results For General Elections. 

According to the reports, there are eight police cases that Babu is facing, but arrest warrants were out on three of them only.  Accused of blocking women devotees, indulging in arson and violence and burning vehicles during a protest march to the office of the temple administration, police have filed chargesheet against him accordingly.

It is to be known that BJP and its Sangh Parivar affiliates were against the women entering the shrine at the Sabarimala temple, while the state government was following the Supreme Court order. Due to this mass scuffle was noted at the base camp and premises of the temple which led to violence. Cited temple tradition and custom to defend its actions, BJP has opposed the verdict of the apex court.
