BJP Got Tangled in Temple, Rahul Gandhi Won Focusing on Farmers: Chirag Paswan
The LJP leader advised the centrally-ruled party to focus on development and solve issues of unemployment, than being diverted from issues.
New Delhi, December 19: Lok Janashakti Party’s young parliamentarian Chirag Paswan on Wednesday applauded Congress president Rahul Gandhi for ensuring party’s win three states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Though being BJP-ally, he criticised the saffron front for being engaged in religion and temple politics, side-lining the main issues of farmers and unemployment.
Expressing his opinion on Congress’ win, he said, “The manner in which they raised the issue of farmers and unemployment, I feel they chose well and we stayed tangled in religion and temples. Applauding the Congress president for ensuring victories in the three states, he said, “There has definitely been a positive change in him (Rahul Gandhi). Congress party has won after a long time. You'll have to give it to him. If you criticise someone, you should also appreciate them when they perform well. They chose issues well.”
In the recently held Assembly elections, Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi snatched away three states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh – from the clutches of BJP by securing 99, 114 and 68 seats respectively in states.
