New Delhi, December 19: Lok Janashakti Party’s young parliamentarian Chirag Paswan on Wednesday applauded Congress president Rahul Gandhi for ensuring party’s win three states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Though being BJP-ally, he criticised the saffron front for being engaged in religion and temple politics, side-lining the main issues of farmers and unemployment.

Expressing his opinion on Congress’ win, he said, “The manner in which they raised the issue of farmers and unemployment, I feel they chose well and we stayed tangled in religion and temples. I urge the government that we should focus once again solely on development in the time to come.” Gujarat and Assam CMs Woke Up but Modi Still Asleep, Says Rahul Gandhi on Farm Loan Waiver.

Applauding the Congress president for ensuring victories in the three states, he said, “There has definitely been a positive change in him (Rahul Gandhi). Congress party has won after a long time. You'll have to give it to him. If you criticise someone, you should also appreciate them when they perform well. They chose issues well.”

In the recently held Assembly elections, Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi snatched away three states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh – from the clutches of BJP by securing 99, 114 and 68 seats respectively in states.
