Mumbai, April 5: BJP President Amit Shah will visit Mumbai on April 6 and address a rally on the eve of party's 38th Foundation Day. Political observes and analysts are seeing this as the beginning of the saffron party's campaign and preparation for the 2019 polls. The event will be held in Mumbai's MMRDA ground in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and is expected to be attended by a large number of people apart from the BJP karyakartas (workers), members and BJP ministers in the state. Keeping in mind, the huge crowd that will turn up for the event, the Traffic Control Branch, Mumbai Police, has issued advisories to avoid commotion and heavy traffic.

Shah will not be the only speaker in the rally. Union ministers and other prominent BJP leaders will also deliver speeches and talk to the crowds. The rally is planned to begin at 11.30 am confirmed Raosaheb Danve, the state unit president of BJP. He told this to the reporters on Wednesday while he was addressing a press conference.

The Times of India mentioned in its report that for the party, the "venue" for the event in Mumbai holds a significant place as the first convention of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) after formation of the party was held in the financial capital in 1980. "The BJP intends to have one crore members in the state. We have a team of 25 youths comprising women, dalits, OBCs and adivasis for manning each booth in the state. There are 315 booths in each Assembly constituency. This takes the total number of booth workers in each constituency to 7500," said Danve while addressing the press conference.

"On April 5 evening, Shah will meet the core committee of the state BJP that includes chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and other senior leaders," said BJP Mumbai unit president Ashish Shelar. Shelar also added that the BJP president might address a press conference or talk to the media after the rally, and interact with BJP leaders from the state.
