Mumbai, April 6: To commemorate the 38th foundation day of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday, Party President Amit Shah is scheduled to address around three lakh party workers at an event at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) ground. The celebrations on Friday is set to be a grand event, showing the party’s strength as it heads for various Assembly elections and the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Mumbaikars are bracing themselves for a heavy-traffic day on Friday ahead of BJP's foundation day celebrations planned at the MMRDA grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex. The BJP has booked 28 trains from across the state, as also 50,000 private buses and vehicles for transportation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also interact with BJP workers and with the presidents of the party's 734 district units on Friday on the occasion of its 38th foundation day. The Prime Minister will interact with them at 4.30 PM via video conference through his app.

Amit Shah arrives in Mumbai
Amit Shah arrived in Mumbai on Thursday night who arrived in the city last night, was felicitated a grand welcome at the Mumbai airport. Shah will address the party workers between 11 am and 4 pm at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) ground.
Shah chaired a meeting on Thursday with the core committee of the Maharashtra BJP to outline the party’s political strategy for the 2019 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Three lakh party workers from across the state are expected to attend the BJP’s conclave. The BJP President and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will address the event.
PM Modi wishes 'Karyakartas' on BJP Foundation Day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took to Twitter to wish all the BJP workers on the occasion of the party’s Sthapana Diwas. The Prime Minister said he bows to all BJP Karyakartas on the special occasion of the party’s Sthapana Diwas.
“We remember, with great pride, the heroic service and sacrifice of all Karyakartas who built the BJP and committed themselves towards creating a stronger and better India. #IndiaTrustsBJP,” he added.

The Mumbai Police have intimated that traffic congestion is likely in the city today as thousands will attend the BJP conclave at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) ground.
Here's a list of routes you should avoid:
Traffic congestion is likely to occur on roads heading towards Bandra-Kurla Complex. Traffic police have advised commuters to avoid SCLR, Surve Junction on LBS Road, Sion Junction, Dharavi, T-Junction, Hunsbhugra Marg, CST Road and Nehru Road till Ambedkar Junction and Shardadevi Road.
* The Mumbai Police has asked commuters to use alternative routes, JVLR, LBS Road, Eastern Freeway for Eastern Express Highway. For Western Express Highway users, S V Road and Linking Road are suggested.
Heavy/goods carrying vehicles entering Mumbai at Anandnagar toll naka (Mulund East), Modela check naka (Mulund west), Airoli check naka and Vashi check naka will be restricted. Thane City, Thane Rural and Navi Mumbai police have been asked to divert/stop heavy vehicles.
On Thursday, heavy traffic was reported on the Western Express Highway after BJP chief Amit Shah landed in the city to attend the party's Foundation Day celebrations. As per reports, the BJP's Yuva Morcha held a three-kilometre bike rally, comprising 10,000 bikers and several cars. Several commuters faced problems due to the congestion.
Elaborate arrangements have been made at the BKC Grounds with three massive stages for the events. Provisions have also been made for the stay of BJP workers. Food packets and water supply arrangements have been made during the entire duration of their halt in Mumbai.
