Ranchi, November 10: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released the first list of 52 candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Elections. Chief Minister Raghubar Das will contest from the Jamshedpur (East) assembly constituency. BJP working president JP Nadda released the list. The voting for assembly elections in Jharkhand will start from November 30. The polling will take place in five phases on November 30, December 7, 12, 16 and 20. The term of the Jharkhand Assembly is ending on January 5, 2020. The Election Commission announced the polling schedule on November 1. The BJP is likely to contest elections without forming an alliance with any party. However, in the 2014 Jharkhand assembly elections, the BJP won 37 seats, while its ally All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) bagged five. Meanwhile, the Congress is contesting the assembly polls in alliance with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
