New Delhi, August 31: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday levelled huge claims over Congress President Rahul Gandhi over undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via China. The BJP alleged that Gandhi always tweets in favour of China and questioned his links with India's neighbouring nation. Sambit Patra, BJP spokesperson on Friday took a dig at Gandhi and said he has an obsession with China. "Rahul Gandhi has left for China via Nepal. Rahul ji has an obsession for China. Why is it that Mr. Gandhi always wants to get a Chinese view on everything but does not want to have an Indian perspective? Which politicians will he meet there?", Patra questioned.

The Congress President on Friday embarked on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and has reportedly taken the China route and not the Nepal one. Gandhi had earlier announced that he would take the yatra after the Karnataka election.

Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala questioned as to why is the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi so perturbed by Rahul Gandhi's trip to Kailash Mansarovar. "Do they not know where Kailash Mansarovar is? Do they not know that Kailash Mansarovar is in the autonomous region of Tibet, China?", Surjewala was quoted by ANI.

Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Ashok Gehlot on Friday took to Twitter and said BJP's criticism of Rahul Gandhi's Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is totally misplaced and inappropriate. Gehlot said BJP is bringing up such issues as party leaders are frustrated and feeling insecure regarding Rahul Ji's pilgrimage.  "Rahul ji is going on a pilgrimage n for worshipping Lord Shiva, it is a holy journey, but BJP is playing politics", he tweeted.

Gehlot further added saying that the ruling party cannot digest the fact that Congress Prez is taking up pilgrimage for his deep faith in Lord Shiva. He claimed that BJP's reaction to Gandhi's yatra shows their narrow and mean mentality.

The BJP also alleged that Rahul Gandhi met the Chinese ambassador without the permission of the government. "You are Rahul Gandhi, not Chinese Gandhi", the BJP claimed. The ruling party said they wanted to know who he is meeting in China.
