BJP Appoints Arun Jaitley as Poll Observer in Rajasthan, Rajnath Singh in MP, Anil Jain in Chhattisgarh

New Delhi, January 3: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentary board on Thursday appointed Central observers, including Union Minister Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh and Thawarchand Gehlot, for the election of leaders of its legislature party in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit along with other top leaders. Rajnath Singh Says Govt Pitched For Talks With Kashmiri Separatists, 'Hurriyat Shut Door on Us'.

The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda while speaking to media said, "Observers for the elections of state leadership in 3 states were decided. Thawar Chand Gehlot & Anil Jain in Chhattisgarh, Rajnath Singh & Vinay Sahasrabuddhe in MP, Arun Jaitley and Avinash Rai Khanna in Rajasthan will go as observers." Arun Jaitley Trains Guns at Congress, NC as Rajya Sabha Debates Kashmir Instability.

He further added, "Dates for the meeting will be decided after discussions with the state units, State President will be chosen in consultation with the MLAs."

Earlier, the BJP lost the assembly elections in the three states to Indian National Congress (INC) last month. In the elections, Former Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Chief Ministers Raman Singh, Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chauhan were elected as MLA during the last assembly polls.

According to BJP sources, the leadership in the following states may go to new faces but the former CM's will continue to play the key role as the party is looking to change its fortune in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
