BJP Announces List of State In-Charges Ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections; Nirmala Sitharaman To Oversee Delhi, Piyush Goyal Gets Tamil Nadu

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced the list of in-charges of nine states to prepare the ground for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

New Delhi, January 5: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today announced the list of in-charges of nine states to prepare the ground for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Union Minister Piyush Goyal and party leader CT Ravi have been given the command of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman and the Nicobar Islands. Meanwhile, Union Health Minister JP Nadda will look after the BJP campaign in Uttar Pradesh. Has Sambit Patra Been Removed as BJP Spokesperson?

P Muralidhar Rao and Kiran Maheshwari will oversee the party’s activities in Karnataka ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Avinash Rai Khanna has been given the charge for Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir, whereas Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will prepare the party’s strategy in Delhi for the parliamentary elections, while former Union minister Kalraj Mishra and Vishwas Sarang will oversee Haryana.

Last month, BJP chief Amit Shah announced the names of election in-charges in 17 states including Hindi heartland states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh where the party lost to Congress in the recent assembly elections. Human Resources Development minister Prakash Javadekar and senior leader Sudhanshu Trivedi will be in-charge of Rajasthan. Sawantra Dev Singh and Satish Upadhyay will look after Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, Anil Jain and Arun Singh were assigned Chhattisgarh.
