Lucknow, May 23: The results of the Bijnor Lok Sabha Constituency will be declared today. The counting of votes began on the Parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh at 8 AM on Thursday, May 23. Voting took place for the Bijnor seat in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 11. A total voter turnout of 64 per cent was recorded in this phase of polling in UP, as per Election Commission of India. Bijnor constituency is one of the eighty Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Bijnor is a city and a municipal board in Bijnor district. To boost its development, there is demand for the inclusion of Bijnor in the Delhi NCR. As per 2011 census, Bijnor urban agglomeration had a population of 1,15,381 out of which males were 60,656 and females were 54,725. The literacy rate was 77.90 per cent. The parties declared their candidates from the seat and the independent candidates filed affidavit too. The Congress declared Nasimuddin Siddiqui as its candidate. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has given ticket to Raja Bhartendra Singh, the sitting MP from the seat. The candidate for the Mahagathbandhan (the alliance between Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party) is Malook Nagar. In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Kunwar Bhartendra Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the seat with 4,86,913 votes. Shahnawaz Rana of the Samajwadi Party (SP) came at the second place with 2,81,139 votes. Malook Nagar of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) came third with 2,30,124 votes.
Lok Sabha Elections 2019 took place across the country between April 11 and May 23. While voting took place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, the General Election results is scheduled to be announced on Thursday, May 23.
