Bijapur is one of the Lok Sabha constituency out of the 28 constituencies in the Indian state of Karnataka. This constituency is reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste. The election date for this seat is April 23, 2019. The parliament constituency number of this seat is PC No. 4. The results of the Bijapur Constituency will be declared today. The counting of votes began on the Parliamentary seat in Bijapur at 8 am on Thursday, May 23. Voting took place for the Bijapur seat in the third phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP) candidate for Bijapur seat is Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi, on the other hand, Janata Dal-Secular has chosen Sunitha Devanand Chavan for General Election 2019. The Election Commission has declared April 4, 2019, as the last date of filing on nominations from the seats. In the 16th Lok Sabha Election, Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP) candidate Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi won the seat by securing 4,71,757 votes. He defeated Indian National Congress candidate Prakash Rathod who got only 4,01,938 votes.

The General Election 2019 will be held throughout India starting from April 11, 2019, and will go on till May 19, 2019. The polling will be done in 7 phases. The result for each phase will be declared on May 23, 2019.
