Biharsharif Vidhan Sabha Seat Result in Bihar Assembly Elections 2020: BJP's Dr Sunil Kumar Wins, Elected as MLA

Biharsharif Vidhan Sabha seat lies in the Nalanda district of Bihar. It falls under the Nalanda Parliamentary constituency of Bihar. The Biharsharif constituency is currently a BJP seat. BJP's Dr Sunil Kumar won the seat in Bihar Assembly Elections 2020. Voting for Biharsharif election took place in Phase 2 of Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 on November 3. The counting of votes took place on November 10.

Bihar Polls 2020 were held in three phases. Voting took place on October 28, November 3 and November 7. Bihar Elections 2020 results were declared on November 10 for all three phases. In Phase 2, a total of 94 constituencies, including Biharsharif, went to polls on November 3.

In 2015, Dr Sunil Kumar of the BJP had won the Bihar poll from Biharsharif seat, defeating Mohammad Asghar Shamim of the JDU. The candidates for the 2020 Bihar polls on the Biharsharif seat included BJP's sitting MLA Dr Sunil Kumar, NCP's Rajkumar and RJD's Sunil Kumar among others.

Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 was being seen as a three-way fight with NDA (BJP+JDU), Mahagathbandhan (RJD+Congress+Left) and the Chirag Paswan-led LJP in the fray. It was also the first major election in the country amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Due to the pandemic, voting timing was extended by an hour. The NDA won the election wth 125 seats.
