Muzaffarpur, May 6: Polling in 5 out of 40 constituencies of Bihar concluded at 5 pm on Monday in the fifth phase of the seven-phased 2019 Lok Sabha Elections on May 6. The 5 constituencies that were polling today in the fifth phase are Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Saran, and Hajipur. In the first phase, voting took place in 4 seats while 5 seats went into poll each in the second, third and fourth phases. The voting in the remaining 16 seats will be held in the remaining phases from May 11 to May 19. The main contest is between the alliance of BJP- JDU and Congress-RJD. In the fifth phase, the key constituencies were Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, and Saran. Twenty-two candidates participated for the Muzaffarpur constituency which went to the polls on May 6. The key candidates in the Muzaffarpur constituency for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 are Ajay Nishad of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Swaranlala of Bahujan Samaj Party, Raj Bhushan of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and Pradeep Kumar Singh of Shiv Sena among others. Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Schedule: Voting In 7 Phases From April 11 to May 19, Counting And Results On May 23; Check All Dates For General Elections.

The voting took place through EVM and VVPAT machines at every polling stations. Voting in the remaining 16 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state will be held in the remaining phases from May 12 to May 19. The counting of votes will take place on May 23 and on the same day results will be announced.

In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won 23 while the INC had just managed to win two seats. RJD and JDU won 4 and 2 seats each. Meanwhile, the 2019 Lok Sabha polls in the country are taking place in seven phases between April 11, 2019, and May 19, 2019.
