Bengaluru, December 23: With the angst growing among the people over the dastardly terror attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama, people in Bengaluru protested against the name of Karachi bakery outside one of its outlet on Friday night, and due to this the signboard of the outlet covered the ‘Karachi’ part. The protest comes amid reports of attacks on Kashmiri students nationwide.

According to the incident, people gathered outside the outlet of the bakery shop on late Friday night and protested against the name, police said. Though no damage of property was reported, the outlet covered the ‘Karachi’ part of signboard as a precaution. Police also sent a team for the protection of the employees working in the outlet to prevent any untoward incident. The action was taken after the outlet owner made a distress call. After Crackdown on Separatists in Jammu & Kashmir, MHA Airlifts 100 Para Companies to Srinagar.

It is believed that that the protesters thought the bakery to be an outlet of Pakistan and so they staged their protest. Also, there were several threat, and harassment reports observed in the aftermath of Pulwama attack in Kashmir.

Earlier, several Kashmiri students and employees of various private firms have been assaulted by protesters in various parts of India. Citing violence, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a circular to state governments, making it clear to protect the Kashmiris residing in states, other than Kashmir, and take prompt action against those attacking them.
