Raipur, December 11: The stage is all set for Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2018 results to be declared. Winners will take it all while defeated will have a lot to ponder upon. Chhattisgarh, one of the states ‘Hindi heartland’ is important for both Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress as well as other parties such as Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC) ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. We at LatestLY are doing live updates of six constituencies on the counting day. The assembly seats are Beltara, Masturi, Akaltara, Janjgir Champa, Sakti, and Chandrapur. In Chhattisgarh, vote counting will be held for all 90 Assembly seats from 8 am. Counting centres have been set up in all the 27 district headquarters of the state. Beltara Assembly Seat
The Beltara constituency in the Bilha Development Block of Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh is in line to becoming a Tehsil post the 2018 elections if the BJP come to power again. Currently, the Saffron Party’s Badri Dhar Deewan is the MLA having defeated Bhuwaneshwar Yadav in the 2013 election. Rajnish Singh is BJP’s choice for the seat in the current poll with JCC opting for Anil Kumar Tah and Congress Rajendra Kumar Sahu.
Masturi Assembly Seat
The Masturi constituency in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district is a reserved seat for Scheduled Tribe candidate. The current MLA from Masturi is Dilip Lahriya of Congress who defeated BJP’s Dr Krishnamurti Bandhi in 2013 by 24000 votes. In the 2018 state election, Dilip Lahriya and Dr Krishnamurti Bandhi are once again in contention representing Congress and BJP respectively along with BSP’s Jayendra Singh Patle.
Akaltara Assembly Seat
Akaltara, the birthplace of famous freedom fighter Thakur Chhedi Lal is in the Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh. Chunnilal Sahu of Congress defeated BJP’s Dinesh Singh in the last election by 21000 votes to become the MLA from Akaltara. He is up against BSP’s Richa Jogi and Saurabh Singh of the BJP in the current campaign.
Janjgir Champa Assembly Seat
Located in the heart of Chhattisgarh is the constituency of Janjgir Champa which is part of the Janjgir Champa district. Congress managed to capture this seat in the 2013 election with Moti Lal Devangan defeating BJP’s Narayan Prasad Chandel by a margin of 10000 votes. The incumbent MLA is up against Vyas Narayan Kashyap and Narayan Chandel of BSP and BJP respectively in the 2018 election.
Sakti Assembly Seat
Sakti Assembly seat is part of Janjgir Champa district of Chhattisgarh, and the current MLA from this constituency is Dr Khilawan Sahu. He defeated Saroja Manharan Rathore of Congress in the last state election by 9000 votes. The candidates in fray for the 2018 election are Gautam Rathore of BSP, Megharam Sahu of BJP and Charandas Mahant of Congress.
Chandrapur Assembly Seat
Chandrapur constituency is an important Hindu shrine of Maa Chandrahasini and is thronged by thousands of devotees every year. Part of the Janjgir Champa district of Chhattisgarh, the incumbent MLA of Chandrapur is Yudhvir Singh Judev of BJP. He defeated BSP’ Ram Kumar Yadav in 2013 by a margin of 6200 votes. In the current election, Gitanjali Patel of BSP, Sanyogita Singh of BJP and Ram Kumar Yadav of Congress are in the running for the MLA post.
