In Madhya Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress will have a tough battle this time as six major news channels/agencies that conducted exit polls gave the Congress an edge over the BJP. This year in Madhya Pradesh, among the 2,907 candidates, the BJP has fielded candidates for all 230 seats. On the other hand, Congress is contesting in 229 seats leaving one seat, Jatara in Tikamgarh district, for Sharad Yadav-led LJD and BSP has fielded 227 candidates while SP is contesting 51 seats.
