The counting of votes for assembly election MP Assembly Elections 2018 amid high security. Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer V L Kantha Rao told reporters that counting would begin at 8 AM with the postal ballots at 51 centres across the state.

In Badwara (ST), the BJP has fielded Moti Kashyap against the Congress Candidate Vijay Raghvendra Singh. Moti Kashyap had won in 2013 elections.

In Bahoriband, the BJP has fielded Pranay Pandey against Congress candidate Sourabh Singh Sisodia. The Bahoriband seat was won by Prabhat Pandey of BJP in 2013.

In Patan, Ajay Vishnoi has been fielded as the BJP candidate against Neelesh Awasthi of the Congress. In 2013, Neelesh Awasthi of the Congress party had won the Patan seat. In Bargi, the BJP has fielded Pratibha Singh against Congress candidate Sanjay Yadav. In Madhya Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress will have a tough battle this time as six major news channels/agencies that conducted exit polls gave the Congress an edge over the BJP.  This year in Madhya Pradesh, among the 2,907 candidates, the BJP has fielded candidates for all 230 seats. On the other hand, Congress is contesting in 229 seats leaving one seat, Jatara in Tikamgarh district, for Sharad Yadav-led LJD and BSP has fielded 227 candidates while SP is contesting 51 seats.
