The results of the Bargarh Lok Sabha elections will be declared today. The counting of votes began on the parliamentary seat in Odisha at 8 am on Thursday, May 23. Voting for the Bargarh seat took place in the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Bargarh is a key Lok Sabha Constituency of Odisha. This constituency came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India in 2002. The constituency comprises of seven assembly seats - Padampur, Bijepur, Bargarh, Attabira, Bhatli, Brajarajnagar,

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) fielded Prasanna Acharya from Bargarh, while Pradeep Debata contested on the Congress ticket. The scrutiny of nominations papers took place on March 27. Meanwhile, the last date of withdrawal of candidature was March 29.

On March 10, the Election Commission of India announced dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The elections will take place in seven phases, and the results will be declared on May 23. The polls will be held in 1,035,918 polling stations across the country compared to 928,000 set up during the last Lok Sabha election in 2014.
