Trikha defeated Vijay Pratap Singh of the Congress by over 2500 votes. Known for the Badkhal lake, the Badkhal seat is also an emerging industrial area. Voting in Badkhal for Haryana Assembly Elections 2019 took place on October 21.
Seema Trikha is the sitting MLA on the Badkhal seat. She had won the Haryana Assembly Elections 2014 from the constituency, defeating Mahender Partap Singh of the Congress. Other candidates on this seat included Ajay Bhadana of the INLD and Dharambir Bhadana of the AAP among others.
