Hyderabad, August 18: Habeebuddin Tucy, who claims to be the last Mughal emperor and the descendent of the Mughal dynasty, has said that he will offer gold brick if the Ram temple is built. Tucy said that he will offer the first brick if the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi land dispute case is given to him and claims he has a solution for the issue. Tucy claims to be the descendent of the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar. Tucy who resides in Hyderabad told the English daily The Times of India that if the case were to go to him for deciding the matter, he would hand over the land for "construction of the temple." This is not the first time that the 50-year-old Tucy has made such an offer. He had offered to  do the same last year too. Tucy has also filed a petition in the Supreme Court and requested the apex court to make him a party in the Babri Masjid dispute case. The petition was made earlier in the year in Februrary.

Habeebuddin Tucy elaborated on his rationale behind him wanting to be a party in the sensitive case. He told TOI that as a descendant of the Mughal dynasty, he has the right to at least be "heard" if not decide on the matter.

Meanwhile, senior advocate C S Vaidyanathan, appearing for the deity, said before the Supreme Court bench on Friday that according to the ASI report, there “existed a massive, pillar-based structure dating back to the second century BC and the ASI survey was conclusive about there being a ‘mandap’ at the site with pillars”.

The counsel for Ram Lalla, a party to the decades-old Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute, referred to the report of a court commissioner, appointed to inspect the site in 1950, and also relied upon the findings of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to buttress its claim over the disputed 2.77-acre land in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.
