Azam Khan Makes Derogatory Remarks Against Jaya Prada, FIR Registered

An FIR was registered against Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Azam Khan and 10 others for his controversial remark targetting BJP leader Jaya Prada. In an apparent dig at the BJP leader, the Rampur MP said, "We have not opened a dance bar here.”

Lucknow, July 1: An FIR was registered against Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Azam Khan for making derogatory remarks against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jaya Prada. Ten other SP leaders were also named in the FIR. According to reports, BJP Leader Akash Saxena filed a complaint against the SP leader at the civil lines police station in Rampur for his remarks. In an apparent dig at Jaya Prada, Azam Khan on Sunday said, “We have not opened a dance bar here.” Azam Khan Banned From Campaigning For 72 Hours by Election Commission For Derogatory Jibe at Jaya Prada.

While slamming the BJP, the Rampur MP said, “People know whom it is being referred to. In a society where this word is classified as respectable, how will it progress and keep its head high?" "Will those who drag down the respectable tell us what to do? They will take themselves as gods and goddesses,” the SP leader added. Khan also said that the saffron party spent a lot of money and used power to defeat him in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

It is not the first time that the Samajwadi Party stalwart used derogatory Language against the Jaya Prada. During the campaigning of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Khan had said, “I brought her (Jaya Prada) to Rampur. You are a witness that I did not allow anyone to touch her body. It took you 17 years to identify her real face but I got to know in 17 days that she wears khaki underwear.” Taking cognisance, the Election Commission imposed a 72 hours ban on the senior SP leader. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Khan had defeated Jaya Prada by a margin of over one lakh votes
