Mumbai, June 10: With the controversy over the Ram Temple in Ayodhya gained momentum over the last couple of months, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut on Monday compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Supreme Court. Raut was of the opinion that the entire country should listen to him and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath when Ram Temple issue is concerned as they are 'Supreme'.

Expressing his opinion on the above issue, Raut said, as quoted by IANS, "The auspicious time has arrived. Soon the construction of the Ram temple will begin in Ayodhya under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This is not a fight for taking credit. We will listen to Modiji because the country has elected him. He is our Supreme Court." Claiming that it was Ram Lalla's blessings which made possible the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party and its allaince in Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Raut added, "The BJP cannot keep asking people for votes in the name of the Ram temple year after year. It is Ram Lalla's blessings that resulted in the overwhelming mandate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha elections."

The controversial comment by the Shiv Sena leader comes ahead of its party chief Uddhav Thackeray's visit to makeshift Ram temple in Ayodhya on June 16. Earlier it was reported that Thackeray would visit Ayodhya to seek Lord Rama's blessings, along with 10 party MPs, on June 16.
