New Delhi, December 11: Results of the assembly elections 2018 - held in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram - will be declared today. Electorate of the above states can check the state-wise, party-wise and constituency-wise results on eciresults.nic.in -- the official portal assigned by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to release the fastest updates on counting of votes.
The above states went to polls between November 12 to December 7. While Chhattisgarh was the first to go to elections, it was followed by Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram on November 28. After logging onto eciresults.nic.in, tabs would be available to choose the state, along with the mode of results one wants to see: constituency-wise or party-wise. On selecting the former, a drop down option would be available allowing the user to choose the seat which he wants to track. On pressing next/go/submit, the latest updates as per the counting of votes would be available.
What the Exit Polls Had Predicted?
The exit polls had predicted a tight race in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, with an aggregate of nine post-election surveys giving BJP a paper-thin edge in the two states. In Rajasthan, the Congress is expected to register a win with a clean majority. In Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's TRS is expected to retain, whereas, Mizoram is likely to throw up a fractured mandate.
