Asaduddin Owaisi, Yogi Adityanath Trade Charges as Telangana Election Battle Heats Up
The war of words between the BJP and AIMIM escalated on Sunday with Yogi Adityanath vowing to push Asaduddin Owaisi out of Hyderabad.
Hyderabad, December 2: With just a few days left for Telangana assembly elections, the war of words between the BJP and AIMIM escalated on Sunday with Yogi Adityanath vowing to push Asaduddin Owaisi out of Hyderabad if the BJP comes to power in the state. BJP president Amit Shah also lashed out caretaker chief minister and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao who, according to him, made Telangana kneel before the AIMIM.
Taking on Asaduddin Owaisi, Yogi Adityanath said: "If BJP forms the government in Telangana, I can tell you that Owaisi will have to run away just like Nizam was compelled to run away from Hyderabad. BJP will give security to all but will not allow those who spread anarchy." Addressing an election rally at Tandur town of Vikarabad district, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister also claimed that Owaisi’s party did “only Muslim appeasement politics”. TRS Releases Manifesto For Telangana Assembly Elections, Promises Rs 1 Lakh Farm Loan Waiver.
BJP chief Amit Shah led the offensive against the TRS, Congress and AIMIM, describing elections as a battle between the “nationalist BJP and the anti-national opposition.” “There is going to be a tripartite battle here. On one side there is TRS K Chandrashekhar Rao who made Telangana kneel before AIMIM and on other, there is Congress who sent (Navjot Singh) Sidhu to hug Pakistan army chief and on the third side, there are nationalists led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Shah said at a rally in Narayanpet. Congress' Manifesto For Telangana Woos Minorities, SC/STs, Backwards.
Shah further accused the Congress and TRS of resorting to appeasement politics to woo the minorities. He said: "Telangana Congress in its manifesto promised free electricity to Masjids and Churches but not for Temples. Both TRS and Congress are engaged in minority appeasement. We are against the reservation on the basis of religion. However, Telangana Chief Minister has proposed 12 percent reservation for the minorities."
Hitting back at the BJP, Owaisi said Adityanath was creating Hindus and Muslims and Shah has nothing to talk about other than AIMIM. Taking a dig at Adityanath, Owaisi said: "They know nothing about history. Had they read, they would have known that Nizam did not run away. He was made Raj Pramukh. Nizam sold his gold to help India financially during a war with China." "150 children die of encephalitis in his Gorakhpur but he doesn't care. He is just dividing people," the Hyderabad MP added.
The legislative assembly election in Telangana is scheduled to be held on December 7, while counting of votes will take place on December 11.
