New Delhi, June 21: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time after Lok Sabha polls and assured full cooperation from the Delhi government to the Centre. In a series of tweets, Arvind Kejriwal said he invited PM Narendra Modi to visit mohalla clinics and schools in Delhi. Notably, Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have been accusing the Modi government of hindering in their "development" work.

In the meeting, Kejriwal said he sought the Centre’s support in executing the Delhi government’s plant to store Yamuna water during the rainy season. "Met Sh @narendramodi ji n congratulated him for LS victory 1. Del govt plans to store yamuna water during rainy season. One season’s water sufficient to meet one year’s Delhi’s water needs. The AAP chief also told the prime minister that the Delhi government will examine whether the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat programme can be integrated with the Delhi government’s health scheme. "Ayushman Bharat was briefly discussed. Informed Hon’ble PM that Delhi Govt’s Delhi Health scheme is much bigger and wider in scope. Earlier this month, Kejriwal had said his government’s health scheme was "ten times bigger and comprehensive". Kejriwal, who has been a vocal critic of Modi, also sought to work with the BJP-led central government to develop the national capital. "Assured full cooperation of Del govt. To develop Delhi, capital city of India, it is imp that Del govt n Centre work together (sic)," he said in another tweet.
