Arun Jaitley Attacks Rahul Gandhi in Facebook Post: Questions How Much Does he Know and When Will he Know?
Earlier in the day, in the rally in Mandsaur, Rahul Gandhi launched a blistering attack on the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government in the state, accusing it of resorting to anti-farmer policies.
Arun Jaitley has attacked Congress President Rahul Gandhi over his remarks at the Mandsaur rally in Madhya Pradesh today. Arun Jaitley, who was recently on a medical leave owing to health issues, is back after recovering from kidney related ailment. The media savvy minister, in a scathing post has raised doubts about Congress president's understanding of issues in a long write-up on Facebook.
Earlier in the day, in the rally in Mandsaur, Rahul Gandhi launched a blistering attack on the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government in the state, accusing it of resorting to "anti-farmer" policies.
In a major poll pitch towards the state's agrarian class, Rahul promised an agrarian loan-waiver if the Congress storms to power in Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh is slated to go to polls in November-December this year. The incumbent BJP government faces an anti-incumbency of 15 years. Combined with the agrarian unrest, the Congress sees an opportunity to wrest the state after a three-term hiatus.
In his reply to Gandhi's attack, former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley wrote that "Every time I listen to the view of Shri Rahul Gandhi, both inside and outside Parliament, I ask myself the same question – How much does he know? When will he know? Listening to his speech delivered in Madhya Pradesh today reaffirms my curiosity about the answer. Is he being inadequately briefed or is he being a little too liberal with his facts."
"I take for consideration the six basic points that he made in the speech today," said the BJP leader.
He then put a point by point rebuttal of Rahul Gandhi's speech under six categories titled under the following headings followed by examples and short paragraphs:
1). "He accused Prime Minister Modi of waiving of the loans of Rs.2.5 lakh crores of the 15 top industrialists in the country. - Factually this is completely false."
2). "Loans are not available to the kisans but only to the industrialists- Factually false."
3). "Prime Minister has given Rs.35000 crores each to two diamond jewellers who have now escaped out of country – factually false."
4). "If the Congress comes to power mobile phones, which are made in China, will now be manufactured in India - a case of inadequate knowledge."
5). "Jobs not being created in India"
6). "We will connect farms and villages to the cities – His impression is of the Digvijay Singh era in Madhya Pradesh."
It has been seen in recent days that the Congress president has been vocal in criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attacking the BJP on Twitter and social media. This post by Arun Jaitley can be seen in the light that the BJP is trying hard to convince the people about the achievements of the Narendra Modi government in the past four years. BJP Presient Amit Shah was already in Mumbai to promote the Sampark for Samarthan initiative and now Arun Jaitley has taken to twitter to hit back at Rahul Gandhi. With the 2019 General Elections nearing, the war on social media between the BJP and Congress will only intensify.
