Article 370 Abrogation From Jammu And Kashmir: Will Counter India's 'Illegal Step', Says Pakistan
The state of Jammu and Kashmir will be bifurcated into two separate Union Territories (UTs) in which the UT of Jammu and Kashmir will have a legislature and Ladakh will be a UT with no legislature, said the resolution.
New Delhi, August 5: Pakistan gave out its first reactions on scrapping of Article 370, hours after the resolution proposing the abrogation of the provision was presented in the Rajya Sabha by Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday. In a statement issued by the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan claimed its right on the issue calling itself "party to the international dispute." It also called India's move "illegal and said it will "counter" the move by India. "As the party to this international dispute, Pakistan will exercise all possible options to counter the illegal steps. Pakistan reaffirms its abiding commitment to the Kashmir cause," read Pakistan's statement.
The Office of President of Pakistan Also Tweeted on Abrogation of Article 370. "Pakistan supports & insists on a peaceful resolution based on wishes of Kashmiri people & stands with them in their hour of need," read part of the tweet.

After Union Minister Amit Shah proposed to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir, a high alert has been sounded in states across India. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), in its order on Monday, also asked all states and union territories to ensure the safety of residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
