Around 10000 voter IDs have been found in an apartment in Bengaluru North related to RR Nagar constituency
Bengaluru, May 8: With just four days to the Karnataka Assembly elections, around 10000 voter IDs have been found in an apartment in Jalahalli in Bengaluru North related to RR Nagar constituency. Election commission (EC) called an emergency press meet at 11:30 pm tonight. EC says the case is of serious charges. Bhartiya Janata PartyBJP's Sadanand Gowda has alleged that Congress candidate from Rajarajeshwari Nagara, Munirathna Naidu, is behind this.
Election Commission ensured that free and fair elections should be conducted. Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Electoral officer said, "Firm and appropriate actions will be taken at an appropriate time." 9,476 voter cards are found in Jalahalli. According to Kumar, the cards are seemed to be genuine. RR Nagar is a key constituency in these elections.
The elections are scheduled on May 12. The result is to be declared on May 15. The BJP is trying its level best to come in power in the southern state. Current CM Siddaramaiah is Congress’ chief ministerial candidate, whereas BD Yeddyurappa is BJP’s is leading BJP in these polls.
