Armori Vidhan Sabha Constituency Election Result 2019 in Maharashtra: Krushna Damaji Gajbe of BJP Wins MLA Seat in Assembly Polls

The Armori assembly seat of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha will go to polls on October 21. In Amrori assembly constituency, the electoral contest is likely to be between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress.

Mumbai, September 27: The Armori assembly seat of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha went to polls on October 21. The sitting MLA from Amrori is BJP's Krushna Damaji Gajbe. Congress's Anandrao Gangaram Gedam was elected as legislator from the constituency in 2009. Prior to 2009, the Amrori seat was with the Shiv Sena from 1990 to 1999. The two leaders were up against each other this time as well, however, Gajbe tasted victory again. Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019: Congress-NCP to Contest on 125 Seats Each.

Unlike 2014 elections, the BJP and the Shiv Sena will contest polls together. Similarly, Congress has formed an alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The last date for filing nominations is October 4. Nominations will be scrutinised on October 5. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 7. In the 2014 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP emerged as the single largest party winning 122 seats. The Shiv Sena came second with 63 seats. The Congress and NCP bagged 42 and 41 seats respectively. Bahujan Vikash Aghadi and the PWP won three seats each. Candidates of Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM were elected from two constituencies.

Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Rashtriya Samaj Paksha and Samajwadi Party won one seat each. Seven Independents were also elected.
