New Delhi, June 13: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday continued his sit-in protest at Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal’s office along with three senior cabinet ministers. The Delhi CM started the dharna on Monday. In the latest development, after Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has also sat on a hunger strike today. Sisodia tweeted this morning about his hunger strike.

In his tweet, Sisodia said that he was sitting on indefinite hunger strike to get all the pending work done and to make sure that Delhi people should get their rights. In his tweet, he also mentioned that the health minister is sitting on a hunger strike since yesterday.

Today, Kejriwal also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government of using senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to obstruct his work. Kejriwal,  Sisodia, Jain and development minister Gopal Rai,  had gone to speak to the L-G on Monday evening. They have not left the building since then. Kejriwal has also blamed LG Baijal for his stubbornness by not fulfilling their demands. He tweeted on Tuesday, "I am really appalled at the L-G’s stubborn refusal to end the strike by IAS officers and his justifications for the ongoing strike. I wonder what the Prime Minister’s Office’s instructions are to him.“

After an alleged assault on chief secretary Anshu Prakash at Kejriwal’s residence on February 19, both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and the bureaucracy have been at loggerheads. On Tuesday the Delhi chief minister released a video in which he alleged IAS officers for the pending work as they have not attended meeting with Delhi ministers after the incident. However, IAS officers in the past have kept on denying the AAP government’s allegation of ‘non-co-operation’. According to bureaucrats, objections to government policies which are violating rules is an administrative procedure.

The AAP leaders who have not participated in the sit-in dharna have announced that they would march from the CM’s residence to Baijal’s office at 4 pm on Wednesday. After the surprise dharna on Monday, security was beefed up outside LG House.
