New Delhi, December 20: With multiple incidents of violence against the Citizenship Amendment Act by the protesters occurring in the country, Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday released a statement saying that those against the act people have the right to go the court. The statement also adds that the act has been brought after the MHA consulted all the sections of the people.
Issuing the statement on Friday, MHA said, "We brought the Bill after we consulted all, there were discussions. But they have the right to go to court & people have right to protest too. Those who want to give suggestions can give, we're in process of framing the rule." Adding further, the MHA statement says, "Implementation of the Act is under centre. We'll finalise who all will be involved in implementation. It'll be digital & easy process so that people don't face any problem." Earlier, reports arrived that violent protests erupted in Lucknow and Mengaluru. Three people were reportedly killed in the police firing, following which the state governments in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka were accused of being autocratic by the opposition parties. On Friday, Section 144 was imposed in more than 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh, as violent protests continues in state.
