Hyderabad, July 21: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, speaking on the growing incidents of mob lynching in India, has said that strict laws must be introduced in order to curb incidents of mob lynching. He also mentioned SC/STs in his speech and said that the problems of minorities and women have been increasing in recent times.

Chandrababu Naidu had some strong ideas and he even said that the governments, probably referring to the state governments, must be very "stubborn" in dealing with cases of lynching. The Andhra Chief Minister demanded that new acts be brought in order to curb mob violence across India. He was quoted saying this by news agency ANI. Check out the tweet below:

An incident of mob lynching was reported today, from the state of Rajasthan. According to media reports, a man died after being beaten badly by a mob in Rajasthan's Alwar district. The mob suspected him to be cow smuggler. The victim, who lost his life, has been identified as Akbar Khan.

The incidents of lynching have gone up in the last few years, with reports of lynching executed by mobs on suspicion or other motives on the rise. The Supreme Court on July 17, Tuesday, had condemned the incidents of lynching and criticised the reports of mob violence on minority communities and Dalits. The court had termed the incidents as "horrendous acts of mobocracy".

The three-judge Bench was led by Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra. The bench said that it is the duty of the State to provide security to the citizens and asked the Parliament to pass a law which would establish lynching as a crime into itself. The apex court bench asked the Parliament to make provision for separate punishment for lynching.
