Lok Sabha Elections 2019: The counting of votes for the Anantnag Lok Sabha Constituency in Jammu and Kashmir began at 8 am on Thursday. The results of the Parliamentary seat was declared by Thursday, May 23 evening. Hasnain Masoodi of the National Conference won the seat with 40180 votes. Voting took place for the Anantnag seat in J&K in three phases. Voting in the Anantnag district took place in the third phase on April 23. Voting for the Kulgam district took place in the fourth phase on April 29. Voting in Pulwama and Shopian took place in the fifth phase on May 6. A voter turnout of XYZ per cent was recorded. Candidates for the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat include Sofi Youssaf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ghulam Ahmad Mir of the Congress, Hasnain Masoodi of the National Conference and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. The last date of filing nomination from this seat was May 5. The last date of withdrawal of candidature was May 8. Polling will take place for this seat on April 23, 29 and May 6. JKPDP leader and former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti won this seat in Lok Sabha Elections 2014 by defeating Mirza Mehboob Beg of the JKNPP.
The General Elections 2019 will take place across India between April 11 and May 23. While voting will take place for 543 Lok Sabha seats in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, the counting of votes will take place on May 23.
