Amit Shah-Uddhav Thackeray Meet: Shiv Sena Sticks to Stand, Says 'We Know BJP Agenda But Will Fight 2019 Polls Alone'

The BJP supremo who is on a mega public drive 'sampark for samarthan' across the country has been meeting a lot of its allies of late.

Mumbai, June 7: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra and Centre seems to be on the rocks, once again. A day after BJP President Amit Shah reached out to Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai city on Wednesday, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has said that they will be contesting all the upcoming elections on their own.

The marathon meeting between Amit Shah and Uddhav Thackeray went on for a long time in the evening hours. There were rumours and speculations were doing the rounds, on Wednesday, that BJP-Shiv Sena has come to a truce and the meeting was fruitful between the two partners.

There was also a report which said that Amit Shah would be discussing the seat-sharing formula for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. However, the Shiv Sena has maintained that they will be contesting polls on their own.

Talking to ANI, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said, “We know what the agenda of Amit Shah Ji is but Shiv Sena has passed a resolution that we'll contest all upcoming elections on our own. There will be no change in that resolution.”

The BJP supremo who is on a mega public drive 'sampark for samarthanacross the country has been meeting a lot of its allies. Amit Shah is also scheduled to meet its ally Parkash Singh Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader, who is also BJP’s ally in Punjab, later in the day.
