Kolkata, June 25: Senior BJP leaders of West Bengal have been asked to submit a blueprint ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the state on June 27. According to news reports, the BJP has geared into action, after the party recently suffered a major blow in West Bengal Panchayat polls against Mamata Banerjee- led TMC.
Moreover, the BJP is also eyeing upon 26 parliamentary seats out of 42 from this state alone. Reports inform that Shah is scheduled for a two-day visit from June 27 in West Bengal and is expected to hold discussions on the BJP's political strategy with leaders of the state.
Currently, the BJP has only two Lok Sabha seats -- Asansol and Darjeeling -- in the state. BJP state president Dilip Ghosh told PTI, "We will submit our complete report to Amit Shah. He had given us a target of 22 seats, but if the elections are held in a fair manner, we are in a position to win at least 26 seats," He further added saying, "We will submit our strategy report to him and restructure it according to his instructions."
As per reports the Lok Sabha seats which the saffron party is eyeing upon are Balurghat, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri and Malda North in North Bengal and Purulia, Jhargram, Medinipur, Krishnagar, Howrah in South Bengal. To win the seats, the party has also appointed observers for each 42 Lok Sabha seats to plan the election strategy. Furthermore, the party has also decided to strengthen its booth.
