Mumbai, June 8: PM-designate Narendra Modi will take the oath of Prime Minister for a record third term on Sunday, June 9. President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office and secrecy to PM-elect Narendra Modi, followed by his Council of Ministers for the third time at 7.15 p.m. Ahead of the oath-taking ceremony; there are several rumours as to who will be part of PM Narendra Modi's new cabinet. It must be noted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the single largest party in the Lok Sabha. The saffron party won 240 seats in the India General Election Results 2024 declared on Tuesday, June 4.
On the other hand, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) enjoys a comfortable majority of 293 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha, with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Janata Dal-United having 16 and 12 MPs each. While all eyes will be on the historic oath-taking ceremony, people are also keeping a keen watch to see who will be inducted into PM Narendra Modi's 3.0 cabinet and which party or MP will get which ministry. With the BJP failing to secure an absolute majority of 272 seats, allies such as TDP, JD-U, and Shiv Sena will play key roles in the division of portfolios and securing of cabinet berths.
