Lunglei, November 23: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Thursday accidentally fell from his chopper after it landed in poll-bound Mizoram. Shah arrived in Mizoram to campaign ahead of elections in the state. The video of the minor accident that happened with Shah is going viral on social media. Shah reportedly didn't suffer any serious injury in the mishap.

According to local media reports, Amit Shah accidentally slipped and fell from his helicopter after it landed at Tlabung village in West Tuipui assembly constituency of Mizoram assembly. The BJP chief missed a step while exiting the chopper and fell flat on the ground. Latestly could not verify the news. Elections for a new assembly in Mizoram is all set to take place on November 28, 2018. As many as 209 candidates are in the fray for 40 seats. Of this, the ruling Congress has fielded 40 candidates while the BJP and Mizo National Front are contesting in 39 and 40 assembly seats respectively. Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mizoram where he intensified his attacks on the Congress party.

PM Modi said that Congress party’s priority is grabbing power and not people of Mizoram. Taking a strong objection to Congress Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor’s remark who had termed Naga headgear “outlandish”, the Prime Minister accused the Congress of being least bothered about aspirations of Mizos.
