Amit Shah Bats For Strengthening India's Border Security, Heads Meeting with MHA Officials and Senior Police Chiefs

New Delhi, October 4: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday stressed the need to strengthen India's border security to secure it from outside threats and terror activities. To take stock of the current situation, the Union Minister chaired a meeting with the all DG’s of the Border guarding forces and senior officers of MHA.

Briefing about the minutes of the meeting, Shah said, as quoted by ANI, "Had a meeting with all DG’s of the Border guarding forces and senior officers of MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs). National security is Modi govt’s topmost priority, discussed in detail how to further strengthen our border security." The opposition has criticised the Union Minister for revoking Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, and segregating it into two Union territories. Also, over 400 political leaders from the state have been kept under detention including former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.

Stating the Jammu and Kashmir will become one of the most developed states in India within 10 years, Shah had said on Wednesday, "Before abrogation of Article 370, there were many obstacles in J&K's path to development. In the next 10 years, J&K will be one of the most developed states. The journey of development has begun, with Vande Bharat Express set to boost tourism in the state."
