New Delhi, July 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday appointed BL Santosh as the National General Secretary-Organisation, a position that links Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP. He was earlier Joint General Secretary Organisation. Santosh succeeded Ramlal, who was appointed as Akhil Bharatiya Sahsampark Pramukh of RSS. "BJP National President Hon'ble Shri Amit Shah Ji has appointed Shri B.L Santosh, Joint General Secretary Organisation as National General Secretary Organisation of the Party. This appointment comes into immediate effect," a letter stated. RSS' Role in 'Nation-Building' Part of Maharashtra Varsity Syllabus.

Earlier, according to reports, BJP leaders V Satish and Shivprakash were said to be the frontrunners. The Position of NGS(O) is considered crucial as the incumbent is accountable for coordination between the party and the RSS.
